Looking for things to do in Secunda this March? At Lake Umuzi this March we have a calendar packed with activities for each one to enjoy.

Music in the Park

Hoërskool Oosterland presents Music in the Park on Sunday, 1 March at Lake Umuzi Kamp Oase. Enjoy a day of music performed by Oosterland Orchestra. They were runner up at the South African Championships in 2019. The show will be from 11h00 to 14h00. Curry and rice and other beverages will be sold on the day. Please bring your own chair, umbrella and/or gazebo. The entrance fee is R20 per person, and children under 6 enter for free.

Model & Photographers Open day

The first ever open day for Models and Photographers in Secunda. A day where photographers and models can showcase their talents to create art on both sides of the lens. Brought to you by Top Foto, this event will take place on Sunday, 1 March at Boesies, Makoro, Lake Umuzi South Bank.

The entry fee will be R50.00 per person and profits will be donated to Little Paws Big Hearts.

Black Back Jackal

Hear the Black Back Jackals howl at Zebra Lounge on Friday, 6 March. They are an indie-folk-rock band from Johannesburg, inspired by the likes of Civil Wars, Of Monsters & Men, The White Stripes and Angus & Julia Stone.

The show starts at 20h00 and the entrance is free.

PwC Kosmos 3 in 1 Marathon

Test your athlete abilities amongst the fiercest on the marathon circuit. On 7 March 2020, the 28th PwC Kosmos 3 in 1 will take place at Lake Umuzi Waterfront in Secunda. This iconic race allows runners to run 73.3km in one day. The three races start at different times throughout the day, that allows the runners to compete in the marathon, half-marathon and 10km in one day.

Lake Umuzi Klassieke Sondae

Enjoy the more delicate things in life with South Africa’s own Pavarotti, Kevin Leo performing at Eish!! South African Kitchen, on 15 March 2020 from 11h00. Klassieke Sondae is planned in such a manner that the audience can attend church and then spend their afternoon enjoying lunch at one of the many restaurants at Lake Umuzi Waterfront while listening to the sounds of some of South Africa’s best classical and gospel artists.

Basson Laas

Shed your stress and enjoy the folk sounds of Basson Laas, the singer songwriter behind all the Man the Fields songs has gone solo and will be performing at Zebra Lounge on Thursday, 19 March 2020. At Zebra Lounge we bring the city to you because you deserve to have good quality music on your doorstep. The show will start at 20h00 and the entrance is free.

Cosmos Festival

To celebrate the beautiful cosmos flower in full bloom the Cosmos Festival will be from 27 to 29 March with a variety of activities and fun things to do.

Eish Craft Beer Festival

The annual Eish Craft Beer Festival will take place from 27 to 29 March 2020. Enjoy live music and cold handcrafted beer all weekend long. Entry is FREE!

Jaryd Smith

To kick off the weekend of festivities the extremely talented Jaryd Smith, looping artist will take the stage at Eish!! on Friday, 27 March.

Saarkie

The South African all-girls rock band, Saarkie will be performing at Eish’s annual Craft beer festival on Friday, 27 March 2020. The entry fee is completely free.
On this night entries can be done for the Cosmos 3 in 1 MTB that will take place on Saturday, 28 March 2020. Pre-entries can collect their numbers and goody bags from 17h00 to 20h00.

Enovelle

ENOVELLE is a post-folk world fusion band that fuses the romantic elements of folk music from around the world with the passion of Africa, soulful singing, creative melodic progressions, held rhythmically by the pulse of African drums. Influences range from jazz, classical, flamenco to rock and some pop. On Saturday, 28 March, they will show us all their colours at Eish Craft Beer Festival.

Second Generation

On Saturday, 28 March, we end off an exciting day of cycling and farmers market the talented Second Generation will take the stage at the Eish Craft Beer Festival. Get a blast from the past with Second Generation performing all those golden oldies you fell in love with in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

Cosmos 3 in 1 MTB

The Cosmos 3-in-1 mountain bike race is a race that will challenge of your abilities mentally and physically. The event is one of the ultimate 100km races in South Africa, three races in one day, a 68km the morning, followed by 33km the afternoon and ending the day with a lap race of about 12km.

On 28 March 2020 the 11th Cosmos 3-in-1 MTB will take place. Every year two mountain bike are up for grabs during the lucky draws and this year is no different. R40 000 in lucky draws will be handed out and R60 000 in total prize money is available.
What is different though is Lake Umuzi’s brand new camping oasis that will be the start and finish of every race. Before the prizegiving live entertainment will be provided.

Get hand made gifts, fresh produce and unique items at the March Boere Mall taking place on 28 March 2020, from 9h00 to 15h00 at Lake Umuzi Artisan Square.

Manie Jackson

Ending off March on the right note, Afrikaans and Country singer, songwriter, Manie Jackson will be performing Sunday, 29 March at Eish!! Restaurant.

AquaZone Waterpark

Don’t waste the back end of summer, spend it at the best waterpark in Secunda. For only R60 per person under 1.35m and R100 per person thereafter. You can pay for one day and get the following day free. (Not applicable on public holidays, T’s and C’s apply).
