Valentine’s Day only comes around once a year…that is what makes it such a special night. It’s like the romantic version of your birthday. It is meant to be celebrated, enjoyed and shared with that special person, and only them.
It’s Zebra Lounge’s first Valentine’s Day and we plan to make it a night for the books. Upon arrival, treat yourselves to a free glass of champagne and have yourself a romantic candle lit, bubbly-filled night alone with your partner.
For your pleasure, we have the stunning Fay Lamour performing all night, whilst you enjoy the company of that someone special. Fay Lamour is a solo singer, songwriter and pianist from Cape Town, South Africa. She delivers a retro futurist sound, sonically soft yet emotionally intense.
Why Fay Lamour = Special Night?
This eccentric singer takes influence from the likes of Lana Del Rey to Billie Holiday and Shannon & The Clams. Her 2018 EP, “Lunatic” gives all kinds of old school jazz vibes. In 2018, she debuted “Lunatic,” which was quite raved about on Texxandthecity.com. The same year Fay Lamour embarked on a 24-day nationwide tour with The Medicine Dolls, where she performed at notable venues such as Mercury Live, Rumours Rock City, and Railways Café.
Later that year, Fay Lamour added another tour under her belt, where she travelled through the garden route, and performed at the renowned Grahamstown Arts Festival. That same year she released her second EP, “Bleu”, followed by her third, “It Might As Well Be Spring.”
Don’t expect to hear regular music on the night of her performance, because Fay Lamour delivers music that is other-worldly. With its 1950’s jazz aspect, and a sultry and sexy sound, Fay Lamour’s performance is sure to make everyone lust after something more that night.
There’s no reason not to come to Zebra Lounge for some romantic before and after dinner drinks. Leave the kids, grab your lover with one hand and a glass of sparkling wine (free at the door, may I add) with the other, and enjoy a special night with the sweet sounds of Fay Lamour.
